Editorial Standards

Toolzay exists to help people find a good username quickly. For the guidance around each generator to be worth reading, it has to be accurate. These standards describe how we source facts, review them, and fix them when we get something wrong.

Our accuracy commitment

Every factual claim about a platform — character limits, allowed symbols, whether spaces work, how handles differ from display names — should reflect how that platform actually behaves today. We would rather leave a detail out than state something we have not confirmed. Where a rule is genuinely ambiguous or varies by region or account type, we say so instead of pretending there is one clean answer.

How we source facts

Platform rules come first from official sources: each service's help center, community guidelines, and the live account-creation or handle-editing screens. We confirm limits by testing real handles rather than relying on second-hand blog posts. When sources disagree, we trust what the platform itself enforces during sign-up.

Review process

New tool content and guides are drafted, then checked by a second person on the Editorial Team against the source material before publishing. Technical behavior — that the generator respects each platform's character rules — is verified against our documented methodology. Nothing about a platform's limits goes live on the strength of a single unverified draft.

Update cadence

Platforms change their rules from time to time. We review the tools periodically and whenever we notice or are told that a platform has changed a limit or character policy. When a rule changes, we update the generator's logic and its written guidance together so the two never drift apart.

Corrections policy

If you spot an error — an out-of-date character limit, a rule that no longer holds, a broken example — tell us through the contact page. We investigate reported mistakes, correct the affected pages, and adjust the underlying tool where needed. We treat a corrected fact as more valuable than a fast reply.

Free, no sign-up, no data collection

All of our generators are free and require no account. Username generation runs entirely in your browser, and we do not store the names you create or the keywords you enter. Our commercial interests never override the accuracy of the guidance: there is nothing to upsell, no gated premium tier, and no incentive to overstate what a tool can do. See our Privacy Policy for the full detail.
